Gobekli Tepe - Rewriting All The History Books!

Built almost 13,000 years ago, Gobekli Tepe is rewiting the history of mankind... and all the books related to same.  Discoved in 1994 by a German archeologist, Klaus Schmidt, it is located at the top of a mountain ridge in SE Turkey.  Massive T-shaped rock monoliths have both low relief and life-like high relief carvings on them.  No one knows who built this place... or why... or how... as its creation & construction predates, by several thousands of years, all previous structures and people who had the knowledge and tools to build such temples and a subsequent city around the temples.  See the photos in the 2 links below.

One thing that is known is... this place was built and used for approximately 1,000 years and then, for some strange reason, it was intentionally buried by sand!  This is why it was not re-discovered until just recently.

My life long passion for architecture and building structures of all types is only rivaled by my interest in archeology.  Thus, I decided to share the on-going story and historic revelations of Gobekli Tepe that I have been monitoring for many years.  Gobekli Tepe is a place that jusy keeps on giving and giving.
